Default Grizz 660 reverse light

Posting for a fellow friend who also owns a 03' Grizz. .....................

Reverse light is burning SOLID the entire time engine is running. All other gear selector lights work fine. NOTE: engine does not have to be running and can be in ANY gear to observe this problem. Once the key and thumb switch are in the ON position the reverse light imediately burns. Any help would be appreciated...he's driving me crazy! lol

just curous. did he bypass the reverse limiter? i have heard that if you bypass it the reverse light may flash, or come on. also, i know if you go too high on the rpm's, it will come on, i have done this. other than that, i would say it might be in the cdi box.
good luck, and let us know what you find out.

Thanks for the reply bud. No, all the wiring is factory. The machine has been jetted and that's it other than a winch and some 589's. Its been running fine. Me and my bud got back from a night ride and he parked the machine. We went to load up the trailers this morning for today's ride and noticed that the light stayed on solid as soon as he cranked it this morning. Its got both of us puzzled. The bike is an 03' and has about 175 miles on it.

OoooooooooooK problem solved. Somehow, a wire got damaged on the top plug on the CDI module under the seat. It may have been him scrambling wires around and moving this and that while running some of the wires for his winch solenoid. The module has two plugs on it. The top plug, once again was where the damage was. I repaired the wire for him and presto.....light operation normal. The same problem will occur if you have alot of dirt/debris work its way into that plug. Its as simple as disconnecting it and just cleaning it out. We saw a similiar problem with another Grizz today.....he came up to our group and said his reverse light was staying on and his rev limiter was engaged all the time in every gear....even park and neutral. I checked that plug and sure enough....full of muck and 3/4 unplugged. We were nice and fixed that also lol. Anyways, I thought I'd share that just incase someone else runs into that problem.
