timing chain stretch?????/
#1
i revved my raptor blipping the throttle and it said gllethhglethth died....i thought the timing chain broke...took the valve cover off the chain was loose on the cam sprocket.i took the chain tensoiner out....
before when putt ing the raptor in time i dont think the chain was long enough to slip on the bottom gear.. now it does...im pretty sure the gear on the crank isnt stripped but havent checked yet. when you broke into your motor did the chain slip on the bottom gear when turning the cam w/ no tensioner in?

well here is another case!!!! i did have a low oil level...before i built this motor i had a 11:1 motor and while riding my clutch side cover started leaking reallly really badd...for no reason... i rode back to camp.. i took the cover off resiliconed it and it s fine...so youre probably correct w/o sufficient topend iol theres more friction esspecially w/ the tougher valve springs so the chain stretches..
