Airraptor,
You may want to do a search on the topic, before you a post what you "think" is in the motor. There was alot of heated conversations and accusations regarding what was in the sparks 690 kit as well as what fuel was used. Go to www.sparksracing.com to see exactly what that 690 kit contained. I do know that it was only a 10.5:1 piston, the valve were not enlarged, {Trinity's does the valve enlargement thing, not sparks}, high rev cam, sparks grind, 35 FCR's, sparks airbox, valve job and head porting....as for the fuel he used vp c12 108 octane fuel. I have the sparks kits, but my is a little different....read my signature below........not sure what the hp is on my motor, prolly around 65-68 hp.......
herbdon out........

How "funny" did the gas smell? He may have been running alittle nitro mixed in there. Besides, stinky fuel only means one thing... (any dragger/hillshooter knows that)

I'm not one that assumes stuff or doesn't take peoples word.

But let me tell you, I have raced a few Sparks 690 Raptors since 4SW's and have never been beat as bad as I did at that event. I wasn't even in the same leauge.

Now when I race ones that are sold to cutomers, I either win or lose buy no more than a half a bike.

I've drawn my own conclusions abut that bike but since I have no hard proof, I'll keep my mouth shut!

I spoke to Scott at Sparks and I asked what they were planning on bringing to this years FSW. Scott said that they (Sparks) do not build quads just for FSW event and the 690 that won last year was ridden by Lyle who is a neighborhood freind of Curtis (Lyle does not work at Sparks). Scott also added that Lyle is a dam good dragger. Now with all that said, I'm sure that Curtis probably with some favortism, did a few extra's that with money anyone could get. Gas was claimed to be ran through the 690 and alot of you guys said it smelt funny. Have you ever smelt VP's MR2. MR2 is in the gasoline family but does not smell anything like pump gas. The MR2 puts out hp close to alky but you don't have to mess with all that purging stuff.

I've never dragged at Glamis but the woops look pretty wicked at the start from the video's that I've seen and would take a good rider to get through them quickly. I have a buddy that rides a HMF piped only Raptor that runs consistant 5.5's in 300' sand on pump gas. This is very fast for a piped only Raptor and considering that other piped Raptors on the same track are lucky to dip into the 5.8's. The other Raptor riders can't believe that his quad is stock, but I know for a fact it is; he is just a good dragger.

Jay
