Raptor Troubleshooting
#1
I took the Rappy for a spin and was having a good time when it just stopped running. I tried to turn it over and no luck!!! Is it possible that I need a new battery? Or............is the starter bearing FUBARed? Could a simple cable be the cause? Does anybody have any ideas? Any and all help will be greatly appreciated!!! XR

I have had a problem with the screw that holds the positive cable to the battery. As I ride it loosens leaving no connection to the battery. I have not had a problem with the quad stalling, but I do have a problem when tring to restart it. Let me know what you find.

I went back to see what I could find and all the cables and wires are ok. I tried starting it again and can hear a clicking noise near the battery. Any ideas anyone? Thanks for the response 01.

First take off both positive and neg wires from the battery and clean the connections. It sounds like you are not getting a clean connection. If this does not work check to see if the starter relay is working correctly. Look in the service manual in section 8-14 to see how to test the relay. I have a bud that had to replace the relay twice. It could be your problem.

sounds like a bad connection at battery terminals. Check voltage at battery if 12v battery ok and connection may be bad if not go to relay check ohms if that isn't it starter has to be problem. If you need specs ask someone I don't have raptor.
