because this 400 ex was beating the raptors there, not saying all the raptors but the ones that had the basics done piped and jetted, simple stuff... and the 250r was stock except for the exhaust and intake filter. sorry i didn't specify that this was a honda 400ex, i just called it a 400...

I saw a couple fast 400ex at Dumont dunes this past weekend, they were no match for my quad but a friend was there with his piped Raptor and the 400ex would beat him up the hill by a quad and a half every time. I asked the guy what he had done to his 400ex IE 416, 440, 465 kit etc, he said it was just piped. LMAO. I said yeah right. The same guy on the piped Raptor said, "I didn't see it", that he raced a preditor and beat it by a quad length or so everytime. My brother on his DS modded similar to mine raced the same preditor up the hill and beat it easily by 3-4 lengths and the preditor jumped the start, so he had to make up a couple quad lengths from the get go. Even with that I thought that the preditor looked as though it would take a stock Raptor. I went up to the line to race it but he came down the hill and rode away. keep in mind this was on flat hard dirt, you slap some paddles on these quads and it may be a different story, or race up hill for that matter, i'm not backing up either quad because i own a banshee, my father in law gives me a 400ex to race in the mid south winter hare scrambles and the predator is his to race in the series, so im not partial to either, ooh yeah my brother had a bad *** raptor, so i'm not badmouthing any quad whatsoever..

 

Chet- I do not that your Virgin can beat a predator. The predator is a thoughbreed. It takes a "queen" to beat a thoughbreed. Now if polaris comes out with a pedophile hide the virgin. LOL

guys i'm in favor of the raptor, cuz its a yamaha but keep in mind one quad is always faster than another, even if you took two stock raptors, one of them has to win. the only way to tell if your quad is faster than another one is to go and race it and see for yourself. there are alot of factors that play important roles in a race. every quad runs different. my .02
