today was my first look at a predator in person and while it did very well it did not smoke the competition as i had been hearing that it would.i would liked to have raced the predator but i only have about 5 hours on my new 686 so i thought i better wait until i am broke in besides my raptor is too.. far from stock to be considered a fair opponent for the predator.what i witnessed was the predator racing a stock raptor and a piped 400 ex and they probably ran about 10 runs and the raptor won every time.this was just my observation and i am not trying to start anything with polaris owners but if today was any indication those predator owners had better wear their goggles and protective gear because they will be eating a lot of roost( okay maybe i am alittle biased)by the way the raptor was winning each time by about 1 quad length and the piped 400 ex was usually running about two or three lengths behind the predator.these drag races were up a sand hill at florence oregon and it did look as if the predators suspension was soaking up those whoops very well.whats my point?no point just my observation.

How far were these races? Seems like the 400ex was awefully close for the race too be over 50-60 yds.

That is what we saw here. The only 2 stock raptors in Parker county were beating the piped Predator by 2 to 3 lengths in the 660. It was a shame that the predator was not jetted correctly when he came to play. A rematch is in the works. I do think that it is going to comew down to whoever gets the holeshot.

 

the race was probably 400 to 500 feet in length and the first 150 feet is made up of whoops in the sand that are probably 1 or 2 feet in height and the rest was up a fairly steep sand dune face.i dont think that it should be surprising that a piped 400 ex can run that close to a predator because in my experience the 400 ex uses what power it does have very efficiently.the difference in the riders skill level probably had something to do with the outcome but i was excpecting the predator to make up ground because of its supposed superior suspension especially since the first 150 feet or so was made up of sand whoops.i am not anti polaris i just expected a lot more after all the talk i have heard.

 

This past sunday a few of us went to a local place called turkey bay, it's in kentucky. anyways the predator is my father in laws and he just got it that previous tuesday..and there were a few guys there on raptors, 400's and so fourth. just racing on a flat field, and i'd been aging my father in law to go and run em, but he wouldn't finally he just said if you want someone to race them then you take it and go do it... needless to say i did, first of all i raced a 250r, it was stock except for pipe and silencer the guy said it was stock bore from 87...anyways i smoked it by probally, 6 quad lenghts in about a little less than a 1/8 mile(200 yards) i guess. so he got out his BADASS 400 that was SMOKING piped raptors all day long, it was sharp very well kept for quad.. anyways he was big headed smirking and saying: "you wanna run this one???" i said sure it's not my quad my pride won't be hurt... anyways the first round i popped a wheelie in 2nd and he pulled ahead cause he got a very good jump but i pulled him big time on top end..and then we raced 3 other times and i flat out smoked him..probally 3 quad lengths and pulling, he told me the mods to the 400 were: cammed, 11:1 piston head work, ported and polished and wiseco piston, this bike is totally awesome i own a banshee and this predator has a MEAN powerband...i'm waiting on my rebuild kit then i'm gonna race him and see how it holds up to the shee.

Why didn't you race any Raptors with it?
