Reed spacers worth it?
#1
Hey guys, before the big ice race I am entering I want to get my shee running as fast as possible. I really have like no big money for any good mods, so I thought id work on the small things. I can get some 1/2 inch reed spacers for 20 bucks and im wonderin if they are worth it. Also, what else I can do to get it working as good as possible? My jetting is perfect and my plugs are the perfect color (honey brown). I am planning on getting a new filter and thats all I can think of. Any thing else I should do?
thanks

Since Ive bought the quad, Ive yet to go into the reed part of it. It doesnt have any signs of being aftermarket, so I think they are still stock. Could like Boysen Pro reeds help? I can also get those very cheap!

edit: just bought some reed spacers for 21 shipped to my door. God i love ebay!

Boyesen Pro reeds are supposed to be the best reeds (but a V-Force Delta 2 or a Rad Valve is better). You can also port your stock reed cages. Instructions for porting your stock reed cages can be found on the Sandfest website
From what I have heard, the reed spacers are supposed to make the hard hit in the powerband a little smoother.
Just my 0.02

Go to www.pro-flo.com. They were playing on the dyno and found that a set larger than 1/2" made considerably more power. I don't know the price of the new ones but their 1/2 were only 19.95 brand new billet. I have their 1/2 but haven't installed them yet. Most people claim they don't help, but Pro-flo has dyno numbers to prove it. If you call tell them a friend talked to John in California and John told him about these spacers.
