Default New 03 Raptor - have a few questions.

Sold my 60 hp. HPD modded Scrambler and bought a Black and Red 03 Raptor. I love it. My friend just got a new Predator and we are having fun seeing who can do what. Both are cool machines.

One area that I feel the Raptor needs some help in is in the width department. I would like to make it as wide as my Bud's Predator. That Predator is stable in the turns. Do wheel spacers hold up? Looking at some from Rocky Mt. ATV that add 2 inches for around $60 a pair. I will not be MXing my quad, just trails, sand and small jumps. I want my machine to handle turns as good as the Predator.

As far as speed...who is faster? Don't really care. Both are very fast. How often does one go 72 mph on the trail anyway? Thanks for any advice.

03 Black and Red Raptor.

I'm not a big fan of wheel spacers. For some reason I just don't think they could handle a lot of abuse. But that's my opinion...I could be wrong. Many companies sell aftermarket A-arms that will widen your quad up to 3+ inches. Check with Alba, Lonestar, Roll Design..etc. The A-arms are considerably more expensive, but for me, it was worth the peace of mind. Good luck!!

Default New 03 Raptor - have a few questions.

I jump, trail ride, and dune. I have douglas 1" offset front rims, and durablue 2 1/2" wheels spacers for the rear, easy fit spacers. With my ITP holeshots I am at 47 1/2" wide in the front and almost 49" in the rear. With my Haulers on the rear I'm at about 48" in the rear. I use my front holeshots for trails and dunes. Idealy you want to be a tad wider in the front than in the back so I'm backwards, what else is new? LOL If I could do it again I'd get the 1 1/2" wheel spacers for the rear, not the 2 1/2" Thats 2 1/2 or 1 1/2" each side. I do not jump alot and get big air, basicaly what you see in my icon animation. No problems and I've recently messed with the suspension (stock) and have improved the handling there some also. Its a much better ride now and if you don't get alot of air spacers will work fine. imo, and alot cheaper to.
