Just wondering if anyone could help me? I have a 89 warrior that has no spark. The bike has been sitting (indoors) for about 7 years. The starter turns the motor over, but there is no spark. Tested the cdi box on another 89 warrior, and it worked. Tested the coil also, and it worked. So im assuming that it is probably the stator? or? Thanx for any help.

Did you check the lead to the plug? sitting that long it may be cracked , corroded or shorted out somewhere.

Yeah, the lead to the plug is fine...i took the whole coil including the lead and hooked it up to another warrior and it started right up.

I had the same problem with my 88 warrior. It was the stator. To check it you need a voltmeter set it to read ohms. If you ask your yamaha dealer or if you have a shop manual it will tell you the resistance you need and the limits and also what wires to test. I sold mine so I can't tell you off the top of my head what it is.

I got mine rewound by Ricky Stator he did an awesome job. His add is in the back of the Dirtwheels Mag
