Default new tire rims for raptor

hey, im thinking of getting maxxis razor 2s and im wondering what would be the best tire and rim size . if i get 22 in the rear 23 up front, will i have a problem with tippiness. im also wondering if i should stay stock size. most of my rideing is in tight trails but at a fast pace.

we [3] run 23 front and 22 rears [holeshot xct] cuz of the rocky terrain. i had 2 flats in one day on the stock radials.

tippy? not hardly! the xcts are a whole lot more stout than the stock tires. you're tippiness is coming from those weak sidewalls. i even softened up my shox with those six ply babies on my quad. and the grip difference is a real eye opener.

if youre in a rocky area or need more clearance, we use holshot xct. i have no experience with the other brand, but we have three raptors with these and are happy with them. and no flats! Good choice on tires! I have the Razor 2 tires on my Raptor and I love them. Before I bought them I talked with Maxxis and several pros that run Maxxis tires and they all told me to stay away from the 22" rear tires on the Raptor. The Raptor is already too tall and tippy, and the taller tires would just make it worse. I went with the 22x7x10 in the front and he 20x11x9 in the rear (stock rim sizes) and I absolutely love them. They hook up GREAT off the start and hold tight in the turns. And don't think you need the extra ground clearance the taller tires would give you - I have not gotten stuck yet with the Razor's. The big side/edge ***** dig into the sides of ruts and into the mud and push you forward. I raced the GNCC Ironman race (lots of sharp, jagged rocks) with them and they held up great. JMO
