Clear coat over graphics/plastic. Can it be done?
#1
I just got done putting all new graphics and sponsor stickers on my Raptor (can they be called sponsors if I PAID for all of it). They red/white NSTYLE graphics look bad a** on black plastic. I am just wondering how I can keep them from peeling off when I wash the 10 pounds of mud off my quad after each GNCC race. Could I use some clear spraypaint or something else to spray overtop of the stickers to seal the edges? Would the paint damage the stickers or the plastic? Any help/ideas/input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Go and talk to a specialty car painter, there are special additives (plastisizers) that allow clear coats and most high end automotive paints to be used on the Raps plastic, they seem to be very durable and way more scuff resistant than the orginal plastic and can be cut back and touched up. A friend of mine repainted an old tatty set of 01 plastic he had, the results where amazing, they also clear coated over the custom graphics, the transformation from what was a pretty crappy stressed white marked plastic was amazing.

I already use the pam trick, especially under the fenders and on the rims.
Thanks for the tip Kiwi, that sounds like something to check out! I already have an "in" with the resto/hotrod shop that redid my '71 Camaro Z-28. I'll pick their brain on Monday.

Yes it is the older NSTYLE red graphics. I bought them off e-bay. I probably beat you! Keep trying - i saw another set on there today. I like it so much I bid on a second set!
