Qikdown--You ever ride at Coos Bay? It has to be the best place to ride in Oregon!

pvtcowboy, nows just as good of a time as any to go. the weather isnt so bad, and there arent a lot of people so you get lots of fresh, untouched sand. Hauser is a good place to stage because its in the middle of horsefalls and spinreal so you can choose which way to go and get a different ride with out running out of gas just getting there. Winchester bay is nice to , lots of hill climbs in the trees if you like that and plenty of trails . if I had a damn trailer and my bike was working id be heading to the coast this weekend.

have a good one

later

wifey and I are thinking about heading to OR dunes (from seattle) - are the open year round? Moses lake in WA is too cold to ride in the winter.

Sorry, dude, but you can't beat Horsfall Beach or the staging area in North Bend for riding in the Dunes. Better hill climbs @ WB, but NB/Coos Bay's dunes are bigger.

LuckyStrike--I agree! No way Winchester beats Coos Bay area. Winchester is great for a day ride, but you could spend a week at Coos Bay and not get tired of it!

kevrm--The ODNRA is open year round. Somtimes in the summer, parts of the beach are closed, but that is about it.

OutOfControl--It is about 860 miles from LA to North Bend, another 5 miles or so to the Horsfall Staging Area at Coos Bay, and probably 10-20 miles to Winchester.
