Default Need some warrior starting help

Hey whats up, to top off the night of bad luck, i wanted to go riding in the snow. i Havn't started it for awhile and the battery was kinda low. so i took it out and chargedit. ok battery charged, i put it back in and it started right up. Waited for it to warm up, i thought well i might as well check the oil. shut it off. Tried to start it again and the sound of one of those old doorbells, the low pitch clinking, coming from the silenoid. I have heard this before when starting it but it never did it much. Tried to cross the poles on the silenoid, nothing just small sparks. no turn over or nothing. Every time i push the button now just clink like a pager vibrates. So if you got any advice i shure would appreciate it. Please give all possibilities. I am having a bad night of no riding in the fresh snow covered roads. Sorry so long.

Mine does the same thing except it turns over like the battery is weak while doing it. Only time it dosent is when the motor is warm.

Ima say........ bad solenoid? (most likely).... or maybe bad starter (hope not)
Maybe the manual covers it in starting problems.

If the silenoid was bad then jumping the terminals would cause the starter to turn, right. Cuz when i do nothing still it just pops a spark and no sound no starter turning no nothing. This thing has been bullet proof up intill this.

Help greatly appreciated to all,
Todd

It's the brushes in the starter they wear out all the time and cause it to click and make your starter weak. I just went throught the same thing on my Polaris your story sounded exact to myn I went to a local electirc shop and got new brushes instaled for $20.
You can tell if it's the brushes pretty easy when it clicks and doesn't respond when you hit the start button, tap your starter while holding down the start button with a screwdriver if it works by tapping it that means your brushes are bad.

Well at first i thought it might be the starter but see, the noise is coming from the silenoid, not the starter. I tried taping everything, the silenoid, the starter and nothing at all. The starter seems to be workeing fine but it is in the silenoid, or something is causing it to trip.

Any more suggestions,
Todd

it sounds like the battery to me. especially since its cold.
Jump it with a car, if it starts fine then you just proved its not the starter or solenoid.

007 Wow that sounds like exactly my problem even though the battery was charged that is the closest answer i have got yet. i am pretty sure the battery has a good charge but i most certainly may be wrong. i mean before when the battery has been dead i never really heard that noise and it would try to turn over without making that noise but i geuss it is worth a try, to put the battery on the charger longer and leaving it. i have heard that trying to jump start it it may blow a fuse. i guess i will try to put a longer charge on it and see if that works, if not to the shop i go to get another battery. i mean i am for certain that i have a good battery but maybe not. if the battery is good will the starter being fugged up also cause this same thing? i hope not.

Thanx alot and any more insight is very much appreciated,
` Todd

I charged mine all night, the charger said it was full, and it still did the same thing. I know what your talking about, mine sounds like its coming from the solenoid too. I think I might just buy a new solenoid, there not to expensive. BTW, mine currently only does it when its straining to make compression.
