new cdi box for raptor

Default new cdi box for raptor

does any body know about a cdi box that can allow the raptor to rev to 11,000 rpms or 10,000 rpms because if it could it would de a nice little mod to have. thanx

It wont do anything anyway. a stock raptor in 5th gear can hit 7k rpm max, piped around 7400 rpm and with a hi comp piston and cam around 7800 rpm. Thats probalby why no one makes one. unless of course someone else has a tach and hit higher revs than me. IMO its not needed.

CT...Dyna makes a CDI for the raptor. I dont know if the CDI raises the rev limit because I havent had time to mess with mine since I have no motor to run it on[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img] But it does allow you to adjust ignition timing, and you can also program your own if you get the cable to do so.

That is correct. The Dyna ignition box has 4 selectable timing curves. One is totally stock and has the stock rev limiter. The other 3 increase the timing and, I believe, have no built in rev limiter. If you get the programmable model and the programming kit i think you can adjust the rev limits on each curve.
