Default Sprockets for Warriors

Hello all,

The stock sprockets on my Warrior are 13 teeth front and 40 teeth rear. The gear ratio is 3.077. I was thinking of getting a little more bottem end by changing the front to a 12 tooth front sprocket. This should give me a ratio of 3.33. To get anymore bottom end I will have to change the rear sprocket too. Here are me questions...
Will I notice the change with the front sprocket change only?
Has anyone else done this?
Will I have to get a new chain?
If I were to change the rear sprocket, will I have to get a new chain?

Thank you,

I had put a 12t on my warrior.

I didnt like how low it was, its pretty low allready and then went up to a 14t after I built up the motor. 14 is what most people run with mods

I have a 14 as well, I thought that the 13 was way too low from the factory. 1st gear was almost useless...

considering the mods I have, what would be good for me to run. I got stock gearing and 20/11/9 rear tires.

Well, you went down 2 inches on the tires so you should probably add a tooth to the front just to get back close to stock gearing. You have a little more power so you could probably pull even more gear than that.. imho

On my warrior i have a 45t rear and a 12t up front. It is verry low and i max out my top speed around 40 mph. This set up has done me well for Mountian climbing and tight trail riding. Just beware, the engine is very hard to kill on steep hills and will most likely flip ya over.
