Remove the Snorkel and the whole lid if you want to put the outerwear over the top of the lid..If you are worried about the water then dont remove the lid,I try to stay out of the water...But for best results i think removing the lid you get the best hpJMO

Raptor010101 for some reason I can't send PM's so the answer to your question is the october issue. I've tried looking on line before and could not find it. The one on line is the race series that's why it's so much.

jraptor -
I have a similar setup to you - Yosh Full Comp System, Pro'Flow foam filter, no lid.
I spent all last year farting around with jetting, tried everything from 150-175, moved the needle all around. Nothing worked just right. I finally figured it out and it runs like a BEAST!
25 pilots
175/180 mikuni mains
stock needles on third (middle) clip
fuel screws - start at 1&1/2, go out until it does not pop and fart when you let off the gas, mine is around 3 turns
If you are losing top end when you lower the needle to the 4th clip, that is because you are relying on the needle for gas up there. You should be relying on the main jet for top end.
Good Luck!!

I just installed the Dynojet kit and Uni Proflow yesterday plus I have the Pro Circuit t-4 slip on. So far I'm happy with it. I haven't carved into my air lid yet....but that may be next.
I'm at 2906' elev. Using the the 4th needle clip and running the DJ146 and DJ144. It seems to carry power all the way through with great throttle responce.
Anybody else running the same setup but with air box mods? I'd like to know if it's worth cutting into the lid.

Ok - big question here!!! Are the DynoJet DJ series jets the same numbering/fuel flow as the stock Mikuni (Yam dealer) jet numbering/fuel flow??? Maybe that's our problem if they are not. We have been trying to get the top end jetting worked out and it doesn't seem to be quite right. We started with the DJ kit needles, springs, etc., but with 165/160 Mikuni mains. Seems rich on the bottom end and a bit lean up top, even with the needles at 4th clip.
