replacing gaskets and washers

Default replacing gaskets and washers

would you really replace all those gaskets and washers that the manual says to replace when changing tha cam and piston??

you can get the base, head, valvecover, and cam chain tensioner gaskets from your dealer.

i was probably going to get them,but i was just wondering if it was really necessary?

I replace the head gasket, base gasket, and stuff like that, but I don't replace the copper gaskets for the oil lines, I have also never replaced the o-rings for the timing check caps, valve check inlets, carb boots, etc. I haven't replaced the crush washer on the countershaft sprocket. Usually, the crush washers are positioned where only one tab can be crushed down, so I would just break off the used tab, and position it to where the 2nd tab can be used. That way you can use each washer twice.

i probably going to replace them all just to make sure its done right.you watch,i'll get all this stuff put back in,get it broke in,and be hauling a$$ in the first race of the season and my tranny will let go. god i hope not!!!
