Default Heated grips

I've used HotGrips grips before but never liked them much due to the really hard, plastic like compound. So, I bought a pair from Rocky Mountain ATV for $20. These are really thin that install beneath regular handgrips. I glued the handgrips into place with 3M Super weatherstrip adhesive as recommended for the grips I use. This is a sweet setup for anyone riding in the cold. So far, I've used them about four times. No problems yet. Nothing like riding around with warm hands in 25 degree weather.

Heated. You have to wire them into your electrical system. They draw 3 amps. You have a high, low, and off setting. The low setting still draws 3 amps - it just goes through a resistor to cut down on how much power is fed to the heated grips.

You can either tap them into your key switch (only two wires on the Raptor so it wouldn't be hard to hot-wire a Raptor to steal it) or run them directly to your battery (the bad thing is you better not forget to turn them off or your battery will go dead).

The heated handgrips are basically metal strips on a strip of clear plastic sheeting. It has a self-sticking bacling that you stick onto your metal bars by wrapping it around the bar, then you clue your grips on top. I use really think rubber grips and the heat has no trouble coming through.

Link to heated hand grips. You will have to do a search on the word "heat" and then select. I couldn't get a direct link to the picture.

No battery, no key switch. Could I run it off a 12 volt starter battery or similar??

Yep. you can run the leads directly off your battery. In any case, make sure you put an inline fuse on the positive side with a 5 amp fuse.
