banshee premix

Spectro SX at 32:1. One bottle to four gallons of gas.
I know I will get jumped on for this, but I have seen too many engines blow when they shouldn't have when running AMSOIL. I know two people who are sponsored by amsoil that don't run it. One races watercraft (has a couple of world titles) and after he kept siezing pistons, his engine builder (nationally known shop) refused to build him another engine unless he stopped running AMSOIL. He is know back to Klotz and has yet to seize a piston. It looked bad on the shop when his engines kept blowing. My local dealer stocks AMSOIL for the people that just have to have it, but tries to talk people out of buying it.
I drove two hours to go riding one day. After a couple of hours, I went back to refill my banshee. I was running Spectro SX at 32:1, and emptied the tank. On the way up, we stopped at the dealer which was out of spectro, so I thought I would try AMSOIL. I mixed it at 50:1 per bottle recommendations. I poured the gas/amsoil in and took off. It wasn't even 5 minutes later that my bike started running bad. A few minutes later, I took it back to the truck because it lost all power. It had lost all compression in a matter of minutes. We loaded up and went home. It ran great for 3 hours while running spectro, but ran about half an hour on amsoil. When I pullled the engine apart, the rings were gone. I called amsoil to see if they offered any kind of warranty or if a defective product may have been shipped. They asked what mix I had it at, and I stated 50:1 like the bottle said. The "tech" said, "Well, that is your problem. You weren't racing it. You should mix it at 100:1 if you aren't racing! 50:1 is for race only." Well, the bottle said nothing about 100:1 or differnent mixes for racing. If I am wearing rings at 50:1, I don't think 100:1 is the answer. I will never buy another bottle. Not just because of it blowing my engine, but also due to their "tech" department.

That is VERY strange!
I have honestly never heard anything like that before.
I have been using it for over 3 years as have my friends, and we have never had any kind of problems like that.
Even when tearing down a top-end, I didn't see hardly any noticeable wear after 2 riding seasons on the dunes.

i think all oils have there up's and downs. i have pondeered this for a very long time... at the end i still came up EMPTY HANDED. now i am just going to pick an oil and stay with it till i rebuild. at that time i will decide wether i like it or not. every major oil manufactorer could have a slight problem with 1 out of 1000 containers of oil. there is no way to know what oil is better than another one. Every bike is different.
these are the thought that were in my head when i was choosing an oil.
