new timing chain?

Default new timing chain?

do i need to just get a new timing chain from my dealer with my 11:1 and cam?

That's the only place to get one as far as I know. I seen on another forum that yamaha has revised the chain and has a different part # and are back ordered. I don't know if this is true but I would look into it.

Whitebread- Line your cam marks up and pull the 2 plugs on the cover and see how close the marks line up. The further off they the more your performance suffers. It it is off by more than a 1/8th inch i would replace. (that is me)

Yep me too. Mine will be replaced soon. The decomp pin wasn't hitting what it is supposed to, to release the compression on start up because my chain is to wore.

how many hours of riding is necessary in order to need to replace the timing chain?

Not a bad idea to replace every top end...if you race it hard
