Depends, the milled head is only $30. But if you blow it up and mess up the head, you need a new head. If you blow it up with the Cool head, you just replace a single dome. But the cool head costs alot more and doesnt really cool that musch better. Obviously if your going to do extensive work to your motor, I would say get the Cool head, but if your only doing minor mods, I would say take off .030 of the stock head. This is the most you can take off without running race fuel and rechambering the head. Another advantage to the Cool head is the O-ring gasket, you can take the head off and put it right back on with out needing a new gasket.

 

Milling the cylinder head is cheaper. Pro Design and other manufactures offer cool heads for the Banshees. The advantage of a cool dome is you can change them when you want 18cc, 20cc, etc.

If you take off more than .030 you will need to run race fuel, but you have to be careful, anymore than .030 and you may need to rechamber the head, there is a certain amount of squish needed, and milling too much off will change that. Also after .030 you will want to check your piston clearance.

I milled mine .030 on my shee and love it. I would recommend it to anyone who has one. Depending on your elevation, you will gain some much needed compression, I am at about 1000 ft, so mine is right at 150lbs. A stock crank will only hold up to 158lbs, anymore and you will need to have your crank trued and welded. If your elevation is higher than a thousand feet though your compression will not be as high.

a stock crank needs to be welded reguardless of how much compression you have.

 

I have a trinty head on my playbike, and a milled stock head on my race bike. For the money, the stock is the best. In fact, you can buy another stock head on ebay and have it milled for slightly more than a set of domes! I am thinking of getting rid of my trinity and putting a milled stocker back on. It does look better though.
