Default Ever needed a part and paid dearly for it? $300 raptor throttle

At a flat track race on saturday a guy on a raptor wrecked in the TT pro-class. He broke the thumb throttle lever off. Another racer was finished racing and jokingly said he would sell his throttle housing for $300. The guy pulled out 3 bills! The payout was only $300 to the winner, so the best he could have done was pay for his new used throttle! Needless to say, the idiot didn't win. Even his racing partner called him stupid for paying that much.

I have never needed a part that badly. I was just curious if anyone else had or has seen another senario like this.

We had a big trip planned for a Saturday. Thursday afternoon I was changing my clutch. The nut stripped out and I could find one to fit. After checking all local shops I found one in Cali. I paid 0.97 for the part and 37 dollars for overnight shipping. OUCH.

Went to take my Bios test, the schol book store was closed! and I couldnt get a scantron, needless to say, I found the first responsible looking person I could and gave them 5 bucks for a 20 cent scantron. I was willing to go up to 20, after that id have bribed the teacher to let me write answers on regular paper.

I can't count how much stuff I have traded for beer.

You are right though. I bought a 24 of natty last weekend for 9.99! Not my normal favorite, but great if you are broke and can't stand Stag (that is what my friends drink).
