Warning!!!! 2003 Yamaha Kodiaks defective.
Man that is really going to **** me off if my 03' Grizzly starts giving me this problem. I only use 4X4 when I can't go any further in 2X4 so maybe it will last a while. What is the cost of the servo motor? I wonder if it has anything to do with shifting in/out on the fly? My dealer told be to only shift it when stopped? Man what a bummer!

Man that sucks. I have a 1995 full time 4x4 Kodiak. Its nothing fancy but it runs great and never gives me a problem. I was thinking about picking a new one. After all these stories about servos and belts, I think Ill just pick up a Big Bear , simpler ,cheaper and more dependable.

Mine has been good thus far, servo that is, mind you I NEVER have it in 4x4 when I'm out. I have about 800 km on the bike since new in August and I'd say less than 150 of that has been 4x4 driving, the rest of the time, have it in 2x4. I'm having a problem with the choke sticking on now, and the steering is really loose, and the front brakes sqweek pretty loud too.

Sorry to hear of your misfortune, but welcome to the yamaha club. Just ask around about the luck us 01' raptor guys have had getting yamaha to cover the faulty 01' trans. They refuse to call back any of their faulty equipment, and given long enough they'll come up with a good excuse as to how its YOUR fault!! Its a shame. They mostly have good products, and would sell even more if they just stood behind their product.
