I'd go with the mud machine 27" bi/tri/claw combo i've heard that thay are a good all around tire.

IF YOU GET STUCK WITH THEM, YOUR UNDER POWERED NOT UNDER TIRE!

 

I have Goodyear Mudrunners on both my 450 Kodiak & my Big Bear 400.
VERY Smooth ride on hard pack
Very Serious in the mud.
A little pricey but I think well worth it.
I have stock size tires on both of my ATV's.

I'll second the mud machines as far as "bite" goes. I have ridden them on a Wolverine, in the 25" and on a SP500HO in the 27" Serious grip! Or for even more clearance get the 28" Mudzillas.

For an all around tire I do like the 589s though.

This all comes from my limited usage of sport utility bikes so I am by far an expert on tires.

 

the best all around tire for every thing is with out a doupt.... the goodyear rawhide Grip. I love mine, they give great traction and a excelent ride.
