If your wondering what the new quad is like look in the new dirtwheels. That is what it's going to look like as of now. They might make some small changes in the plastics. Yamaha is telling that it's a 600cc 4 stroke motor. This thing should smoke a ds650. All of this info is as of now and subject to a little change.

Which issue (month) and what page?

I'll be standing in line for one, whatever it is. I may just buy one and let my wife decide if she likes it better than her Polaris 400 Sport. But I'm not giving up my Banshee.

I'm sure that 600cc thumper will be sweet and all, but I won't sell or trade in my 99 Banshee to get it. But I could part ways with my 87 Banshee however.

I think it would have been better if they came out with the 426 thumper instead. Because I'm sure the 600 will be in the 440+ lbs range, which is more than I want.

Still hoping on that Kawasaki 250 2-stroke.

The spy photos are on page 52 in the June issue of Dirtwheels magazine.

The text states that the exhaust pipe is definately a four stroke. As to what size, they couldn't tell but they are guessing between 400cc to 700cc due to frame size. The front nose piece has slots so it may be water cooled. They also state that industry insiders say it might not be the 426 motor due to added stresses of a quad and the motor may be the 600cc grizly engine.

As for suspension and frame it appears to have double A-arm front suspension with a single shock rear with possibly up to 12" of travel.

Dirtwheels is expecting an official announcement from Yamaha in next month's issue.

One of the photos show the new Yamaha in an enlcosed trailer with the door open with a 400ex and a couple of Banshees sitting outside for comparision.

In the same issue they also have specs. on the new Cannondale quad. Remember, competition is good!

yeah, theyre not positive on the size of the motor, but its definately a thumper. Looks like it has alot of suspension travel. Looks very wicked as of now, but it might change some. Still wouldnt give up my banshee, theres nuthin like a 2 stroke!!!
