Here at the school that I am an Instuctor at we have Gateways and they are NOT proprietary
I am not knocking Dell, believe me. When our service tech calls them, they send someone to fix it. That is why I recommend them over the others.

Pentium® 4 Processor at 2.40GHz w/533MHz front side bus/ 512K L2 Cache
512MB PC1066 RDRAM 2X256 modules 512M2P
Logitech® Wireless Keyboard and Optical Mouse Desktop Solution
Monitors: 17 in (16.0 in viewable,.27dp) E772 Monitor E772
New 128mb DDR ATI Radeon™ 9700 TX Graphics Card with TV-Out and DVI
New 120GB Ultra ATA/100 Hard Drive (7200 RPM) 120G
3.5 in Floppy Drive 3 [340-8628]
Microsoft® Windows® XP Home Edition 16 Max DVD-ROM Drive 16DV995
SoundBlaster Live! 5.1 Digital Sound Card
Harman Kardon® HK-395 Speakers with Subwoofer Limited Warranty, Services and Support Options: 1 Year Limited Warranty plus 1 Year At-Home Service Secondary CD or DVD Drive: 40x/10x/40x CD-RW Drive with Roxios Easy CD Creator® 40CDRW2
I quickly priced a Dell that was as close as I could get to my machine just to compare the price with what I just bought.
Differences
Dell Dimension 8250 pros = 16" viewable monitor, speakers, 1 year warranty, slightly faster processor $1,632
My system pros = 2 120GB hard drives, Motherboard with Raid controller, AGP 8X, and supports up to 3 gigs of RAM, PC3200 DDR Ram (one stick not dual 256's), 52X burner, cool case
Less than $1400
I could have trimmed the fat on mine some because I bought an expensive case and I bought the extra hard drive for the raid, but it was pretty close. If I had to buy a monitor, which I didn't b/c I already have a 19" viewable, the price would have been near the same. But with no warranty.

The counter balancer is like a flywheel, it cancels most vibration before it is transmitted to the frame. I have heard of guys filling the frame with gel of some sort and using rubber engine / handle bar mounts to get rid of some of the vibrations but not all.
you might want to look into welding the blaster front frame onto the bike chassis and fabricating a swing arm to make four wheels before putting a non-counter balanced engine in a quad frame. If there was a benefit to putting a non-counterbalanced engine in a quad frame I would think every 250R ever made would have a 500R engine in it.
I say scrap the YZ250 engine into a Blaster frame idea and look for a 85-86 TRI-Z (yamaha 3 wheeler with a counterbalanced 250 engine) or a YZ250WR engine ,they both have counterbalancers and also lighting coils for headlights

My other computer is a Silicon Graphics workstation.
Its an old IndigoII with a brand new 21"monitor.
Got it when I used to work for SGI.
It only has a 250 Mhz MIPS proccessor in it, but in its day it kicked a$$
