Default TIRES/SPROCKETS

ok im goin up to a 22inch tire and dont want to loose any acceleration as i do mostly trail riding and some slow riding so would goin down to a 12 t in the front be enough to compensate for larger tires?
any suggestions
also what are some good mud / snow tires for the raptor
i still want to be able to slide and cut donuts but also make it through creek crossings and some muddy areas
i was thinkin either dirt devils, spder tracs, super swampers, bearclaws, gators
any suggestions will be much appreciated

How about the ITP 489s? The Kenda Bearclaws look tough also.

I don't know how it would run in the woods with 12/40 but I'm real happy with my gearing/grunt ratio.12/44 is more than enough to get back lost oomph with 22" tires but 12/43 would be easier to install:-)

I went from 14/40 gearing too 13/43 when I went up too a more trail worthy 22" tall tire. Thats a big change, but thats what it took too get the acceleration back. I went with Shredders....they don't slide real well....but hookup is unbelievable. I would recommend the dirt devils...the hook and slide.

the stock gearing is either 14 or 13 on front and a 40 on back would goin up to a 41 or 42 be enough i dont wanna loose any top end if i can help it
also can i fit a 41 or 42 sprocket on back with the stock skidplate on therE? i noticed today that my chain is rubbing skidplate now so can i shim my skidplate down a little for more clearance for sprockets or what should i do ride around too many rocks to leave it off
was also considering gmudsharks or pure sports REALTOR (mean lookin tires)

decided to go 12 40 on gearin because 1 t smaller on front is equal to 3 bigger on back so i should be at the same ratio as Gary now tires and sprocket will be in friday

You could have got the tire - rim combo from www.rockymountainatv.com reasonable. If you get aftermarket rims, I would go-ahead and get 1" offsets for a slightly wider stance...should be perfect for trails. If the sprocket does'nt come in....contact me, I have a slightly used one you can have.

Unless someone is looking for different wheels, they probably won't notice a difference in the wheels anyway. The rolled edge is pretty much identical...but they are pricey. Are you gonna ride it or show it...lol. Just joking bro.
