Default warrior engine hesitates at high rpm?

when im drag racing my friends or just flying down t he road, i get predicatable power throughout the gears. When i get to sixth and am flying in that gear after a couple of seconds itll die for a split second as if it was outta gas or something. Kinda like vrmmmmmmmmmmmu..eh..vrrrrmmmmmmmmmm thats kinda how it goes. Does anybody know what is the cause of this? It is stock except for kand n filter. Thanks alot, warrior86

sounds like your floating the valves or hitting the rev limiter, if its the valves, get some harder springs, if its the limiter, im sure someone makes a rev box for it

Warriors do not have rev limiters. So that is not an issue. For some reason there is not enough gas going to the engine. This could be caused by floating valves, but since there are no engine mods, i would suspect that the valves are not at fault since they have not been run that hard.

You may want to clean the air filter becasue that could be a vaccum restriction. Also your carburation system may be at fault. Check the fuel filter as well (in the peck-****). Also you could clean out your carburator and possibly put a slightly larger main jet in. Another check would be to make sure your spark plug is in good shap and has good gap.

Blaster96 is correct, there is no rev limiter, it is probably floating the valves,it is a common thing with a stock motor, the springs can't handle extended hi rpm use. The head is also a bit restrictive, porting makes a big difference in the top end. Hopefully you rejetted when installing the K&N, a lean condition on the main jet will cause skipping on the top end also.

Yeah mine's done that too, I hate that. Only after an extended amount of 5th gear flat out racing though. When mine does it, it's only for a sec and if i keep it pinned it will cut out big time but i just let all the way off and push it all the way back down as fast as i can and it clears up. On mine though im lead to think its me draining the float bowl faster then then the fuel system can put it in there.

Default warrior engine hesitates at high rpm?

thanks for the help. Ya know, now that i think of it i bought this quad used with the filter already in it. THe kid who i bought it from took decent care of it but he didnt seem too knowledgable. I dont even know if he had it professionally serviced. He probably didnt do the jets. Is there any damage that can occur if its running lean? thanks
