Default Best Performance Mods for Raptor!

What are the best performance mods for a new Raptor if I wanted a totally tricked out trail bike. What would everyone do to make it the best trail bike made? I don't know much about them, but I think I'm going to buy one again, and I'd like to hear what everyone's done to make it the best trail sport quad made!! I need to know things like where to buy it, what it does, what's the manufacturer, etc. The more details the better. I've heard of Alba as a viable option. Any ideas or comments?

A trail machine needs a good set of skid plates, and the pro Flo adapter + filter and rejetted These are just the basics the sky is the limit depending on how much you want to spend.

Go get a bore kit. For trail riding try a 686 or 690. Craycraft and Curtis Sparks make great kits for the raptor. Slap a good exhaust on it, carbs, then gear it. You'll be very impressed by those mods.

I've heard of trinity racing big bore kits, but I'll check on the ones you are mentioning too. I'd say that gives it a lot more power, doesn't it?

Get a full MBRP exhaust, aftermarket filter without airbox lid, jet it, stage one Hot Cams, and you are on you way!!!

turbo charged, big bore on nitros is a good setup for trail riding. JUST KIDDING! all you realy need is what ernie posted for the trails. as far as the air box lid, depends on the conditions, wet or dry. but do get a clamp on air filter adapter plate and filter and throw the stock one away.

Skids=PRM
Pipe= Yoshi,MBRP,Sparks
Filter=Pro Design, GYTR
Jet kit=GYTR
Shocks=Elkas w/SSD. I would upgrade the suspension before doing internal engine mods for trail riding.
Tires=Razrs,Holeshot 6 ply rears

Thanks for the info. I'll check out all those options and let everyone know. Will the 400ex handle better than the Raptor? How big of a power difference is there between the two? Will it be dramatic?

No, and Yes. I've ridden a 400 ex and the handling isn't any better than a Raptor.

Aluminum swing arm and belly skids are a must for the trails.
12/42 front and rear sprockets help a great deal for trail and dune riding.
If your not building the motor up then a slip on will do. The MBRP is a nice slip on.
If you want more power at less $$$. get an 11:1 JE piston and a Hotcam stage 1 Cam. 50+ hp
