If your not going to ride sand much I would say paddles are not a must have. But after you do ride sand I imagine you will be hooked and want the paddles.

A better filter set-up is a good idea sand in a motor = lots of $ in repairs.

so stock filter lets some junk in or is it just easier to clean aftermarket one and the performance mods you get too?

you can use stock filter just clean it when your done riding, i assume you are all stoc kso you have a snorkle anyways and wont have to worry too much. Performance wise the filter will help alot, get a slip on and a jet kit as well and you will be happy. Tires are good to have but not a must

Fronts are not necessary....you will have a much better time in the dunes with paddles VS knobbies. If you are not going to use them much...I would say try and find a used pair. But once you kill a big dune or two you will be hooked!
As far as size...I would get 20's. RockymountainATV has good deals on tire rim combo's. Also you might think about dropping the front sprocket to a twelve tooth.

Have fun

The Gecko's are a nice tire...easier to turn than most paddles, heavy though. If the price stays the same thats a nice deal.

Honest opinion most will tell you stay away from the Geckos they are heavy. You want to lose weight not add it.

Sand skate 2
Haulers
edges

these seem to be the more popular type of tires
