Sealed Airbox with Pingry Aluminum box
I race GNCC cross country races and I am having a hard time with keeping my air-filter dry. I have used both Outerwears filter covers and airbox covers, to no avail. Does anyone have any ideas on how to adapt a solid cover to the Pingry aluminum airbox? I need to find someway to keep my filter dry in wet conditions.

Sealed Airbox with Pingry Aluminum box
Yeh, that's what happened. My gas cap vent tube got plugged too. About every 5 minutes my engine would start to sputter. I had to unscrew the gas cap just a bit to equalize the pressure, then it would run fine for a few more minutes.
Anyone have any ideas on an airbox cover or snorkel system for an aluminum airbox? Thanks.

airraptor's idea will definitely help. I had to do the same thing on one of the 400exs. I use foam though. After the seat is on, I shove it wherever I can to stop the water/mud spray from the rear fender from going in under the seat and down through the top of the cover that has several 2" holes. If you do have a lid with holes in it, then run a bead of silicone around the top of each hole to form a barrier against water just running straight down into the airbox. At least it has to work its way over this silicon lip.
