2-stroke ban in 2006
I was over talking with the Polaris dealer, who said that all 2-strokes as of 2006 will be completly banned from public access area's and BLM land. The only group that could fight the ban would be the Manufactures, i.e. Honda, Yamaha, Polaris, Suzuki, ect, but why would they want to fight when they know that when the ban goes into effect it's going to force 2-stroke owners to buy new machines. It's a win win for the dealers who will be selling more quads as well as the earth muffins who would love nothing more than to place tighter restrictions on ATV owners, like now with noise violation laws on the dunes.
Has anyone herd this or do you guys think this a cloud of smoke, served up to sell the 4-stroke

If you dump enough technology into a two stroke it can meet the regulations. Just the companies dont see a huge proffit to be made there since they can throw a fourstroke together that meets them much easier. Anywho, just imagine how clean an EFI engine with a powerhead and maybe a cat on it would be.
BTW, anyone ever heard a 2 stroke v-6 boat motor run out of the water? they sound like a top fuel dragster and they shake the ground. Gotta love it. Would love to have something like that in a sand rail.

yeah guys, just check the new developments (you're going to laugh) at the weedtrimmer market. Stihl has a trimmer coming out that is a hybrid and has premix engine that has the emissions low enough to pass. Just a matter of time before they do the same for the banshees etc.
