TRI-Z (YTZ250) quad conversion kit???
Has anyone ever heard of these? If so where can I get one? I know a guy getting rid of one of these and I was thinking about getting it if I could find the kit to make it in to a quad.
Please let me know if you have any info on these

WOW....What a flash from the past. The last time I heard of ATC to Quad conversion kits was back in the late 80's. Good luck with your search. Sorry I couldn't help.

Default TRI-Z quad conversion kit???

Well like Psyhco said the late 80's is when they stopped making them ..for two reason's . It was expesive and it didn't work all that great.(cheaply made). the last I had heard of someone making one they were going to try to make a better quality one ..but that is the last I heard.
Your best bet would be to either buy a trashed Blaster/Warrior and weld the front end onto the Tri-Z or just take the motor out of the Tri-Z and put it in the Blaster/Warrior.
There is tons of aftermarket parts for the Blaster/Warrior, But not many for the Tri-Z. The YTZ250 was the fastest engine ever produced and the Tri-Z was hands down the fastest 3 wheeler built

I was thinking that you would be better off grafting the front end of something on there, too. I think the best bet may be a Banshee. The front fenders seem like they could work out and it will have the rad placement already. I'd think you could find one at a decent price and the parts are everywhere.

In one of the mags a guy grafted a Scrambler with something that had A-arms(400ex maybe?). If you are into fabbing I think the project is pretty doable. You could also build your own front frame section and fit on a-arms from a donor quad. Check ou the dune buggy sights...alot of guys make their own a-arms too.

The last conversion I saw was at K&N in Tulsa on a 250r but it was a three to two-wheeler conversion!

yamahachad, not to make you feel like a dumba$$ or anything, but the tri-z was definatly not the fastest three-wheeler. ask anyone, its by far the Tiger500. no doubt about it.

But what is a Tiger500?
Who made that Yamaha,Honda,Kawasaki,Suzuki?
And judging from it's name given Tiger500 I would assume it was 500cc ?
And not the 250cc I was refering to?
Back in 1984 I had a friend who put a GSX750 engine in a 250R ATC frame does that mean he had the fastest 3 wheeler ever made?

Chad,
the Tiger was indeed a 500 and reported to be the fastest(as well it should be!) But they were very limited inb production. Technically, they were the fastest, but they were not mass-produced. I always thought the Tecate 2 was supposed to be fastest(of the mass produced)

Anyhoo, Dont cut up that Tri-z, they look awesome..

RoostKing...

Tri-Z's are fast as crap. seen 2 of them racing down the river a few weeks ago. one with red plastic, and white frame, and the other with exact opposite. i would have raced them, but they were going the opposite way. Here is a link to look at the Tiger's.
