Default Adjusting Valves

I am curious to see what you guys are doing on your valve adjustments. Just how often do you do it and also what clearances do you give them. I think my local yamaha shop told me 004 on intake and 006 on exhaust. Give me your input, I would much appreciate it. Thanx

I adjust mine at .005" intake and .007" exhaust.I check the intake about ever ten hours, they tend to close up.But I'm not normal.I would'nt go much past 20 hours between adjusting the intakes. The exhaust seems to stay in spec. after the first adjustment.
The specs. are also on a sticker on the airbox lid.
I assume your are talking about a raptor, I am.

Intakes on the raptor are supposed to be 0.10 - 0.15 and the exhausts 0.15-0.20 per the service manual. Am I missing something here?

mm VS. In

I have also noticed that the exhaust valves maintain gap but the intakes seem to tighten. I believe that tight valves (no gap) can damage the head over time so it's probably wise to check the intake valves regularly. Seems I have the tank and plastic off all the time these days for other reasons so I take a peek then.
