Default Full Yoshi guys, what is your jetting?

Been battling with mine and I can't quite get it to idle and it hesitates.

I don't run an airbox lid, but I have been thinking of drilling the holes in it and putting it back on.

Also, are the idle mixture screws supposed to be set different? Richer on one carb?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Get a jet kit, works wonders! I have a Yoshi without a box lid and with the kit it ran perfect! I was running 148/150 jets from dynojet (different from stock)

I have the DJ kit. I don't think that mine even came with a 150 jet. But my problem is not in the mains. I am curious as to where people are running the clip and the mixture screws.

I Have the full yosh, I also run a foam Pro Flow filter and an EHS air box cover, basically an outerwear mounted over a large hole in the box. Jetting is 148/150 DJ mains, DJ needles on the 3 clip from the top, but might try second, stock pilot jet and 3 turns out on the fuel screws on both carbs. Run very well this way, the only difference I had with no lid was running 25 pilot jets.

160/165 GYT-R jets, 25 pilots, 3rd clip on needle, 2-3/4 turns and 2-1/2 turns on mixture screws on Full Yoshi Comp, Proflow foam filter with no lid. At 500 ft, runs perfect.

I have the dynojet kit, full yosh, pro-flow foam, and air box lid on (no holes). I'm jetted per the DJ instructions (See Dynojet Raptor instructions for their reccommendations on jets/clip pos, etc...). Keep in mind that the sizing (numbering) of DJ jets is different from stock sizing.

I have had the same hesitation. The other day, I took out the dynojets and put in mikunis plus needles. Way better performance. I believe dynojets just arent made to run without the lid. I had 148/150 with needles in the 3rd clip from top, them moved it down to the 5th clip. Helped the hesitation but still didnt run right. I suggest you throw away your dj kit.

kyraptor23, What mikuni jet whoud you say I would need to replace what I have?? I have similar jetting to what you had. I still have a small mid range issue I can't get fully worked out.

That is what I had in mind. I just needed some assurance.

I replaced 148/150 dj with 155/160 mikunis and went with the third slot on the needles. My top end was quite a bit stronger and my mid range was way better. Hope this fixes your problem. If not, you might want to throw the lid back on like Dave said.

My problem was that no matter what plug test i did, i always showed rich with the dj. I was lean in the mid for sure, but still rich on the plug. Just couldnt figure any of it out, very frustrating! The only thing that helped my hesitation with the dj, was lowering the needle clip as far as it would go but still wasnt right.

You may also want to try to go up on your pilot jet like some have advised me to do. I hope to get the pilots today, ill let you know.
