I'll give you a hint, you need to lean out the low/mid throttle positions when running w/out the lid due to the resulting slower air velocity. Also, you won't be able to lean it out enough for smooth operation by adjusting the needle/clips/pilots/mains alone. So, the mod I am referring to is a permanent/irreversible change that actually leans out the low/mid, thus allowing you to compensate by richening the low/mid by using the adjustable components of the carbs, thus resulting in more hp than any other mods known to man. LOL.... OK, so I'm getting carried away here. The problem is, if you mess up, the mods are irreversible, you'll have to throw away the carbs & I refuse to be responsible for anybody messing it up or saying it doesn't work etc. That's why I am keeping it a secret, I am not going to be responsible for anybody butchering up their stock carbs. However, read what I said & compare to cv carb theory, you may need to refer to more than one article on the subject but its there at your fingertips. Good luck, this post will self destruct in 5 secs, LOL......

Sounds like he is talking about modding the cutaway on the slide. It use to be on bikes you could get different slides with different cutaways or ramps.

I have a question.

I have a 03 Raptor with stock airbox and WB R4 Silencer.

I run at Sea Level.

I increased the Main jetting one size to 145/150 and the Pilot to 25, 2.5 turns out.

When I pin the throttle, sometimes there is a slight hesitation or burp before it takes off.

Suggestions?

Thanks,

Rob

Rob4092 try the stock pilot 22.5 and see if it clears up, worked for me.
