Default GPSd the Raptor today

I have seen some people ask this, so I thought I would post it. Used a Magellan 330 gps and did two runs today on pavement. First run was 71.8 mph and second was 71.5 mph. I believe that it would have been a little bit higher but I ran out of road and had to back off, probably would have been between 72-72.5 This was on a bone stock 2003 raptor, and also I am 6'2" 240 lbs as I know this will definitly affect the top end.

As a side note I had my first endo on the raptor, was at a local mx track and just play racing and tried to pass someone going off a jump and I picked the wrong line and landed all funky, bike threw me to the right and it cartwheeled to the left and landed right side up. Nothing like watching your 6 week old new quad flip by you on the track Nothing hurt but my pride and a nice little ding in the radiator.

Next time I will get a gps reading on a dirtroad.

Yea, a GPS makes reality sink in, I thought I was running alot faster, then I bought a GPS my runs were all 77.8 -77.9, and I was so sure I was in the 90's, thats O.K. all the quote "100 MPH" banshees were we were drag racing were really only 93 -96 MPH no one came close to 100 MPH. They dont like my GPS anymore!

GPS is the way to go if you really want to know your speed. They are very accurate and nice and portable too.

When my Banshee was bone stock I hit 72 MPH, I added the K&N filter and jetted better and hit 74 MPH. After pipes it hit 82 MPH then 84 MPH with 1 tooth bigger on the front sprocket. This was all on pavement and measured with GPS.

I bought a GPS once for this very purpose and then took it back to Wal Mart the next day. ($180 that I didn't need to waste) GPS'd my Grizzly 660 just for Shts and Giggles, and of course wanted to puke at the harsh reality.

Flat pavement with the speedo showing 65, the GPS was dead on 60. It will get up to 67 on flat pavement now, but thats still like 62 at the very best. Makes you wish you never did it.
