What is the top speed of the Blaster and what is the stock horespower.
What is the top speed of the 400EX and what is the stock horsepower.

Default 400EX or Blaster

both would work
the 400ex would have more power however its more expensive
with mods a blaster can keep up to a 400ex 2strokes respond better to mods
remember tho it all depends on the rider
the 400ex has better suspension and handling
since your 15 the blaster will probably feel small and you will grow out of it so unless your a bigginer or small i wouldnt get a blaster
might want to look at a z400 if your buying new they have a little more power liquid cooling and more mod potential
hope that helps a bit if you have more questions ask

thanks but what about a 400EX or Raptor for Racing and trails. I am a die hard Yamaha fan but have heard some bad things about the 01's are the 03's better because i know a raptor will whip a 400EX

i no this is an old topic but had to put my 2 cents in. Man you stated(ToomeyBlasterRyder

that since you are 15 you are probably to big for it or you will grow out of it quickly. How do you know? You dont know if he is 5'2 80lbs or 5'11 200lbs so how do you know he is 2 big for the blaster or not? I am 20 years old, been riding blaster for 2 years. Just purchased an 03 blaster, I am 5'11 180pds and i fit just fine on my blaster and blaters have entertained me just fine for the past 2 years. I aint attacking you man but just curious

good point but i'm pretty short like 5 4 or so and 115lb for my age (i'm 14 almost 15) and i'm starting to feel small on mine so i'm just guessing that he might feel small ya if he's a small guy a blaster might be fine and i'm in no way saying that you can't have fun in a blaster there lots of fun but there still not a high performance machine and he asked wich is more suite for mx racing a blaster is a awesome starter for mx or any riding really it isn't going to beat a z400 in a mx track (if the riders were even as a lot of it depends on a rider) but coming back to the to small thing everything is different and feels different on a machine the best way is to go sit on it see if you feel comfy ...so ya i was just giving my opinion from my experience hope that answers your question btw i also no a couple other adults on blasters who have fun so like i say everyone's different peace

it all depends on your price range.

Raptors, well i've had all the bad luck in the world with a raptor and finally called yamaha to get my money back! It was a complete lemon.

I've owned both and i must say everytime i've been on one or the other i would wish i had the other one with me.

Some times 2 strokes are a blast!! then other times you just want to putt around, can't do that on a blaster at all...fouled plugs and probably wreck because its not making power at low RPMs.

I'd say if you want the best of both worlds, 2 stroke power and honda handling get a 250R its the only thing out there with both.

The 400ex will never let you down but do you have 5300 for one? or maybe the 2900(in toledo for a 2003) for a blaster.

I love my blaster and i'm a fat *** at 210 pounds 6' tall

There is a huge difference between the two. I have ridden a Blaster with a few mods and it was quick. I could only imagine what a 400ex is like. I fyou have the money i would definately reccomend u go with the 400ex

Go look at the FSW wars video and you can see what a modded 400ex will do. 2 stroked do like to be modded but the blaster starts off so far behind the 400ex theres not enough reacting to do unless you spend gobs of money. In the mean time the 400ex will be the same speed as a way hopped up blaster, cost you about the same, and be more reliable at the same time. Z400 is about the same but not quite as cheap ( you can get a killer deal on a 400ex, especcialy used ones).
