If that picture is at TDC you are WAAAAAAAAAAAY out of time on your cam, like 90 degrees.

I think that Raptor head on E-bay is being sold by a kid that posts on here...

I would be leary to buy anything on E-bay that is advertised like "I screwed it up, got it fixed, works like new, but I'm selling it anyways"... use CAUTION!!!

I wasn't planning on buying it. I have a broke one already! lol

The motor may have turned in that pic. I will have to check it when I put it back together.

Yeah that head is from a guy on here. I thought about getting it but was warned about it too.

Check you motor.....I just woke up so maybe I am confused...but your cam bolts should be parralell to the head at TDC, like this.

O O

did that make sense? The O's are your bolts and the _______ is the head

Yeah, that makes sense. I might have spun the motor some before I took that picture, but I don't think that I did.

Any tips for reassembly?

Just a couple. Be CLEAN, take your time and double check everything (especialy the cam timing, torque on the head, and all oil lines), most importantly check your air fliters for anything that could be hidding in there

And once you get it all together, DONT crank it, use whatever you use to spin the crank and make sure you have no contact with the piston and valves, and also on the cylinder bolts there are two sizes make sure you get the right ones on.... you will make a mess and maybe do some damage if your not carefull.

The TDC picture is right, the top cam bolt hides the 3rd dimple mark. You cant really tell from the picture if its stretched or not, try and get a good level look across the top edge of the head. There is a similar picture on my
Page

Sorry about the cylinder head, heard of that happening alot. They are machined for each other as I hear so I would definitely attempt to fix it.

Should the two punch marks be exactly horizontal with the head? If so, mine is probably off. The one towards the rear was lower than the one in the front.

warrior007, thanks for your page. It is a lot more user friendly than the manual.
