Default Did I screw up again?

I've never used one of those gaskets, yet. But if the ring can slide around, why?, then I guess it would be installer error. I'll be finding out how difficult it is to line things up with that gasket in a few weeks myself.

Well, I am an impatient man so I slid the ring back in place and re-installed it. The krinks or bends in it weren't that bad and maybe the pressure will straighten it out.

On another note, adjusting the exhaust is a ****!

I don't believe your suppose to be able reuse a compressed gasket. But hey, if it works, what the heck.

skin, the reason for the ring is so it seals. The non-ring type didn't work for me, but this kind did. The ring is something like 0.003" thicker and makes for a better seal, that measurement is probably wrong but you get the idea.

I hate getting to the EX valves to adjust them, what a pain.

Well, it didn't work.

It is leaking coolant and oil from the head gasket.

I am going to get a factory gasket. Looks like it will seal better to me. imo

It did run though. lol Valves noisey, but no clankity clank clank

Dang, thats a tough one too answer. I hate too say it, but I would tear back down and find the click. Are you using the maintenance manual step by step? Clicking...I am thinking is the decompression mechanism working correct?
Did you install the cam chain tensioner correct? Meaning, installing the base onto the head with the tensioner retracted, and then install the spring / bolt so the tensioner only applies enough pressure as necessary....IMO, this is why people are having timing chain problems on their mild Raptor....improper assembly of the cam chain tensioner with the tensioner already fully extracted
Keep us posted bro.

So are you saying that some raptors come with a cam chain tensioner installed improperly from the manufacturer, or are these problems when doing engine work? whats a mild raptor?
