Default Stupid atv accidents??

went to a practice track located in a sandpit with my buddy. He takes forever getting ready and i couldn't wait to ride. i blast a quick lap out on the track...ride off to find him still getting ready...pass him doing a ride-by and i punk throttle it, to give him a little roost. i then proceed to hall off and hit a jump/sand pile in the pit. as i hit the lip. i give the throttle a "blip". and nothing. the quads nose drops. then i notice the back side of the jump/pile is gone ( aloader had taken a nice scoop since i had been there last.)

Raptor nose dives into the ground. i go over the bars. the elkas suck it up and bounce the quad back onto all fours, where it continues to run me over and rip the visor off the helmet. i had so much sand in my mouth. i had to use my fingers because it was packed in so bad. lol.
of course, my buddy's laughing his *** off. i try to hope back on my quad with dignity. Won't start. quick check revails i had the gas "shut off". Hee haw!

Lessons:
1) check your gas "shut off" before riding
2) roll over jumps before you nail them...someone may have altered them.
3) helmet without visor looks like a big toe.
4) roosting your friends when their helpless...is funny as hell...but always seems to come back and haunt you.

1. Racing blaster, go to pass a guy on a rhythem section, gassed it and ended up catching the double with my back tires, endoed majorly, was knocked out while lying in the middle of the track, got back on the 4 wheeler and thought i was still racing, officials waved me off the track, i about pulled out in front of starting gate of the next race... sore for weeks with a bad limp...

2. After a day of skipping school, and one 30stone later.... i decide to hop on my cousins blaster and ramp some terraces in a field.. hit the terrace in 6 gear wide open.. nose dived it into the ground , alls i remeber is rolling with the little blaster.. bout got my junk ripped off by the handlebars and broke my wrist... hospital bills suck..

3. a week after i got my raptor , i was ramping a pond dam and landing on the back side of it... couple of times i was landing on the flat and didnt seem to bad... so instead of the usual 2nd gear ramping of it, i hit it in 4th gear, that was a no no.. my buddy watched me fly and then land on the front tires, therefor bending a tie rod and my weight bent the handle bars.. screwed up my left hand, tore all the tissue on the back of my hand.. have a splint on now, but doesn't keep me from riding..

alls i have to say is thank god for my helmet....

I was hauling *** through an orange grove at around midnight without a helmet. Hit a pump well casing and flew over the bars and landed on some gravel. I continued to slide on the gravel with my body and you would have never guessed - I slid into some beehives. It was at night so the bees were at rest and didn't sting me. I did get honey all over me though. The damage to my 2 week new Warrior was a bent frame. I traded it in on a Raptor. To top it off I was drunk. I'll never drink and ride again.

I forgot to mention, the only injuries I had was gravel burns on my arms and back and a few splinters of wood stuck in me from the bee hives.

Tried to do a hill climb on a muddy hill, lost speed, gassed it, back end kicked out and the quad and I rolled down the hill into some trees (no helmet). Luckily I stopped my fourwheeler from mashing into a tree by having my arm there as cushon. Somehow neither of us got hurt except a bruise on my arm. 2 people pulling an upside down quad up a steep muddy hill wasnt very fun though. That took about 30 minutes, then my friends uncle came along on his 4x4 big bear the second we were done "Hey, yall need any help?"

Other than that I have no good crash stories, I drive too fast, nasty conditions, do stupid stuff and so on but my guardian angel has some very good skills to make up for my lack of sence.

I just had the pins and screws removed from my ankle and thumb from a bike crash. I jumped on the new Raptor and took a spin around the drive way, started to slide side ways and instead of gassing it and continuing the slide I let off the gas and it stopped and spit me into the mud. I separated my sholder and bent my handlebars.

Then, barley out of a sling from the last crash I did a high speed reverse get off backing out of the garage. I turned the bars just a bit and the thing whipped around and flung me under the deck. No injuries or damage this time.

I was riding along in 2 - 3 inches of snow by the edge of a field at a pretty good clip. There was a depression that was about 12 inches deep that was drifted over. When I hit the depression the front wheels dropped in and stopped but I didn't. All of a sudden I'm laying in front of the Raptor on my back looking up at the front bumper.

The last one was on Thanksgiving day. Riding in 6 - 10 inches of snow with my bro-in-law. All my brakes were frozen. We were going to go down a steep winding trail by a swamp but I had no breaks. So my Bro goes first to make a trail to follow. Well, he had a 4 x 4 with a little more clearance than me. I was comming down the trail pretty fast and hit a tree stump that a beaver had cut down that was the same height as the snow. Again, the Raptor stopped but I didn't. There I am, laying in front of the bike looking up and making snow angles.

I'm lucky because all these crashes happened without a helmet on. I have not crashed once while wearing one.

about 3 years ago we were at el mirage(dry lake bed). woke up and decided to go warm the blaster up. only had on shorts and a helmet. came off the lakebed wide open in sixth. there are two trails, one is flat and the other has a deep whoop section. well you guessed it i took the wrong trail. i cleard the whole whoop section(60 ft) and landed on hard pack which had loose sand on top. the bike landed sideways and slide then caught which sent me into the bushes. hit a bump and lauched again. but this time the bike was in a nose dive. couldn't jump off cause of the forward momentum. landed nose first into another jump. my legs went through the bars and the throttle struck in my knee. somehow i pulled off the crash and was riding wide open back across the lake bed with my knee doing the gas and my back on the seat. rode back to camp and wife and friends were pulling skin and hair off my bars. never ride without my boots and pads since. broke shin and had big hole in knee. worst part was all we had for bandage was duct tape and paper towels. hairy legs!

Default Stupid atv accidents??

Last time I was at our stealership getting something done I had a little incedent. I pulled my bike up there on a trailor but went to pick it up in my S-10. When I loaded it up I used my ramps, and yes I hooked them to my bumper. Well, all is well until my front tires hit my fender wells, I had forgoten that I flipped the front tires around. When they hit I was still on the gas pretty good. The cable clamps that held the ramps tot he bumper had no chance. The bike stopped spit the ramps out and down I go. There was probably 15 people outside the shop watching I bent my tailgate, BAD, broke my grab bar, and burnt the heck out of my leg.

At FSW I was ridding abck and forth over this little dune and I guess I moved down it a little too far. When I went over it his time there was no back side to it. It was only about 6 foot, but that was enought to nose straight down and break a tie rod end.

I just put on my two clamp on filters and was testing them out. I went out onto the asphault and comenced a burnout in the gravel. That sucker lit the rear tires up. About that time, just a split second later, I saw something pass me. WTF was that, I thougt, and went into a flat spin. It was my tire/hub. When it came off the other tire caught traction and grabbed only on one side, and sent me ver side ways. I guess I forgot to put the cotter pin back in the hub. I never did find the hub nut.

On my Warrior in Desoto National Forest, which is VERY rutted out, I found a mud hole quad width and about four feet deep and maybe ten feet long. It had water/mud in it and was almost full. I thought if I got enough speed maybe I could just "skip" across it. I hit it in about 5th gear, full throttle. When I hit the hole I just stopped. It tried to throw me over the bars but I hung on to them with my toes, which threw me face first into the mud hole at a good rate of speed.

At one of the pits we ride there is a VERY large and steep sand pile. At the top of it there is a peak and then drops right back off for four feet. I was comming up the long steep side as my buddy was comming over the short side, we didn't know that at the time. I lofted the front wheels going over the top, THEN I saw him and hit the brakes. I ended up landing my a-arms on his tank.

worst i had was riding a wheelie in 4th gear on a 400ex, and i got back a little too far, i think the quad did about 5 flips in the air before it came down landing upside down.

Bent Bars, Clutch and brake levers, light switch, steering stem and tore the seat.

Heres a small vid of one of my more stupider moments in learning to ride a wheelie on the 400EX.
I thought I could keep on the throttle when the grab bar hit and just drag it.
Nope.
It dragged itself on its side......hahaha.
