I guess the only thing I really want to know is how reliable it is? How was your experience with it? Thanks

The 727 can be just as reliable as the 101 and 102mm bores if built right. I know of a couple that run around here localy that seem to hold up as well as the rest. It's all in the build.

The more power you make the less reliable it will be. And it also depends on how much money you want to spend.

I would go with a well built 686. A well built 686 will out run most 727. You can get a well build 686 for under 1600, a well built 727 will be more than double that. To build a 727 you have to slpit the cases and you do not on a 686. There is a bigger change that something will go wrong while doing a 727. Most 727 run on pump gas. What they gain with the extra 43cc's they lose with the lower compression. 10.75-1 vs 12-1.

airraptor has stated that each point of compression is worth 4 percent, do the math a high comp 686 with the way to go.

I would definately check into Craycraft before you get an engine from Trinity. You'll get it for cheaper and have a much better built engine

Craycraft vs Trinity vs Poweroll vs Sparks

Craycraft = small company, good engines, in business short time
Trinity = Large company, good engines, in business for almost 20 years, lots of winning riders
Poweroll = Small company, great engines, in business for along time, lots of winning riders
Sparks = Small company, great engines, in business for along time, lots of winning riders

All builders have their share of problems. Call around first and weed though the crap and than pick the one your most comfortable using.

A good running 686 will keep up and probably beat the 727 low comp.

Good luck

I believe that Craycraft has been in the business of building engines for over 30 years...
