Just ordered new Kawasaki Prarie.
Since I researched the forums and saw all the problems that the Grizzly was having I decided to go with the Prarie. I hope this was a good choice. Pick it up Wednesday.
I need something to ride in the winter and for the mudd stuff. I might even race against bigdaddy660 in the GNCC races with it. Think I will have a chance?lol

Yeh, stock for stock the prairie will beat a 400ex and will walk all over a bored 300ex. I know from experience, everytime I go down the road they always try and race me. I don't know why, I mean you'd think half a dozen times of me stomping them would be enough.
You'll be pleased with the 650. If you need any help on mods, just ask.
I would suggest bookmarking the link below and reading all the technical articles available on the website. Will really inform you about everything dealing with the 650 on mods and such.

Congrats on the new bike I hope you enjoy it as I'm Sure you will. I am also close to purchasing a 650/660 util. ATV and have been almost set on the Yamaha Grizzly. I have heard alot of good things about the Prarie, and some people have said it is a better choice than the Grizz. I was just wondering what made you choose the Prarie? was it purely a speed thing? Please don't take this post the wrong way, I just would like to make an informed decision, It's alot of money to be spending. I have looked at the prarie and can get it for the same money as a new grizz. How do you feel about the praries swingarm/solid axle style rear suspension vs the grizz's independant? As I understand it the front diff Lock is a lever that can be applied instantly when needed as to the grizz where you have to shift into locked mode. Any help would be appreciated thanks and Happy Riding !

I went with the Prarie mainly because of the forums. I have read on the forums about the Grizz having problems and the lack of response from Yamaha to fix them for the other guys that have them. I have a friend that just bought one and it has been back at the shop for two different problems. I really feel if you are just looking for the most comfortable ride the Grizz is a better machine but if your looking for power and speed the Prarie is the way to go! I bought the Prarie mainly for the ATV Jamborees.
I went to two of them and I enjoyed them a lot.
