Default question of the week

Pre-load....most of the stress will be from anything going in free motion to a impact
hmmm how do I explain
If I punch something from 3 feet away my arm/shoulder has time to build velocity...when it hits its mark this energy is displaced onto that object
same thing this time except I already have my fist up against the object...when that same force is exerted it is once again transfered, however with more of a push than an impact

Did I confuse you?

Default question of the week

so basically what your saying is if you leave the clutch out and punch the gas to wheely it is less stressful on the engine than if you pop the clutch?

Default question of the week

Cox1231, yes it is alot better to punch it to do a wheelie than dropping the clutch.

quadwarrior02, Whenever you dump the clutch in a "high traction" area i.e. concrete it's hard on just about everything on ur bike. It is really hard on your hubs and axle splines and if your hubs are loose, (which dumping the clutch will loosen them) they will get egged out. Its hard on ur bearings too and most wear and tear is on your clutch.

Hope i helped

Default question of the week

Worst that will happen is your clutch will go out a couple weeks earlier than usual *that is if you dump it in the loose stuff every time you ride. There is no suddedn jolt of power when you dump it in the loose stuff so its about 100 times better than dumping it on concrete.
