Default 450 kodiak stuck in reverse

My 2003 KODIAK 450 is stuck in reverse. When i try to shift it, the shift level moves but it won't shift out of reverse.

I bought is use with 80 miles and i only put 10 miles on it. Does anybody have any suggestions?

thank you

Anthony

Take the side Left side panel and the oil fill cover off.
Put the shift lever in reverse, if it is still stuck in reverse.
Use a 10 mm socket and tighten the bolt that connects the shift linkage to the trans.
I had this happen to me out on a ride about a week ago. I pulled the bolt and put Lock-Tight on the threads to ensure this not being a frequent problem. To date, it works great.

Good Luck!!!

I had a bolt loosen and fall out into the shifter mechanism on my 2001 Kodiak that locked the shifter from moving anywhere. Had to remove some of the plastic and fish it out.
