If you use your ranger to tow this trailer, on a regular basis, you will notice the wear and tear on your truck. $$$$$

I have a 2001 Nissan Frontier 4x4 with v6 that I pull an inclosed 12x6 with 1 big quad and 2 mini quads in it and it really hold the truck back in overdrive.I have to run it in drive to pull it pretty good, but it shore drinks more gas being that high in the rpm's.At 60mph I am at about 3200 rpm were if I was in OD it would be at 2300 rpm.I need a bigger truck too

Well, lots of good ideas guys. Now, about stepping up to a full size, Ford F-150 and Chevy Silverado? Most likely in the '99 and newer range. Nothing against Dodge, I just like Ford and Chevy better.

Well I like my 01 silverado but the transmissions well how should I put this?......... suck. The 4L60's that GM uses in their trucks have some major issues when pulling a heavy load. If your going with GM get a 2500 series with the Allison transmission. Other wise go with a F-250. F-150 are too ugly to buy.

Never buy an F250 when you could buy a F350. Ride quality is the same and you'll never regret having extra payload capacity. A nice 97 or so Powersmoke 4x4 supercab should run in the under $19K range. You just cant kill the heavy duty trucks as fast as lil ones.

Hey!! I have an F-150, well I guess they're a little homely. But the 4.6 is a good engine. Running strong with 168,000 on it.

I disagree, the only difference is the ride. Everything is the same except the springs. If you get a 250 you can add airbags to help and get a better ride in the meantime. With a 350 you are stuck with the rough ride.

Hey guys, got a new icon. No more guy with the big eye! Anyway, might just keep the ranger and see how it does this summer on trailer duty. I just hope the clutch does not puke!

I own the F350 and of course I'm not talking about 2wd here as the F250 2wd would have independant front suspension whereas the F350 has a solid axle. With 4x4's the only important trucks, the ride quality is EQUAL. I've driven F250's and my F350 and there is NO DIFFERENCE. Put a camper on the back of both trucks, then you'll see why you should have bought the F350.

Mr45 did the 250s you drove have the camper package? Those do ride about the same as the 350s but without it they ride much better. I'm talking 4x4s also, the only way to go.
