Default rappy or v-force

I've only been riding a quad and reading these forums since February. I have a couple unanswered questions about this whole Raptor/VForce war. Maybe RPM can help.

Does the foot you have next to the clutch housing feel like it's on fire like mine did for the brief period that I rode a Polaris 335?(Just letting my wife try my Raptor but I got stuck on the P.O.S.laris for the remainder of the day)

Does your performance suffer as your belt heats up, like it does on every snowmobile I've ever ridden. Have you shelled any belts out on the trail? (I always carried spare belts when snowmobilling, but my last sled revved 9000rpm)

How do you save your machine when you get into trouble on a hill and need to grab a fist full of clutch and spin a set of holes?

These questions aren't mean't to frustrate anyone, they are just some of the questions that I had when I was choosing my ride this spring.

Hayseed,

I have been on several long Trail and Dune rides, and I haven't felt any excess heat coming from the clutch housing.

So far, the performance of the belt has been pretty consistent. That's not to say that as the belt wears more that this will remain true. I simply don't have enough hours on it to make that kind of determination. There is a 100 hour Belt Check indicator light that comes on to have your belt serviced.

To be quite honest with you, I have not come across any hills that my 700 didn't go right up. I personally (Having both Auto and Manual operated Quads), feel that the Auto has the advantage when it comes to climbing hills. The fact is that with the Auto, along with the power of the 700, you don't need to grab a "fist full of clutch" when climbing a hill. You simply give it the required amount of throttle and go. If you start to loose momentum, all it takes is a little more gas.

It's hard to explain just what this Quad is capable of. I know that it sounds to good to be true, and I also realize that it is not for everyone, but it really is amazing just how well the KFX700 handles most riding conditions. The only way for you to find out if it is right for you, is for you to throw a leg over one, take it for a spin and see how it feels.

This thread is titled "rappy or v-force". NOT....................."I have a modded rappy, I went to college, I love to insult other quad owners, I'm from Ohio and you're from West Virginia". Isn't it enough to simply state why you like the rappy more? Bottom line is stock vs. stock, any honest review would have to rate the V-Force a better machine.

My honest review does not see it that way. The Raptor is better looking. Faster, (not as quick off the line) better mod potential, Handles well, (cant say how the Vforce handles) better looking, I already said that but, facts are facts.

Not the kind of facts one of your bretheren spewed forth about a clutch mod and pipe on a V Force making the Raptor look like a Blaster. LMAO

I'm sure Force has never owned a sport machine before the V force so he has no real experience to compare them. Heck for that matter I've not seen a V force at the dunes yet, maybe he's right.... LOL!!

My opinion, anyone who buys a scrambler isn't the brightest person. I have smoked a piped scrambler 400. It was like competing with myself because thats all I saw. The thing sound like it was goind to fall apart too. That was back when I was stock. Now I have a K&N and a few secret mods done to stock parts.

Nice Air KevinM! Before I bought my 700, I rode a few Rappys, both stock and with mods. To me me they felt tall and short. My knees were against the front fenders, and I'm only 5 11. They did haul a$$. And they jump nice. But I like the size, handling, and acceleration of the V-Force more.

45 AUTO- You have no idea what quads I have owned-4 250 quad racers- 1 250 buyou-sons-JET SKI- 1200STX-SLED-900ZR. As for you I can tell you have no idea of power or you wouldnt have a V-10- They are well knowen to be dogs-underpowered-hogs.

Not to disagree with you completely, but you are stating facts not yet proven.

1. Looks: I will give you that one, I believe that the Raptor is one of the meanest looking Quads out there.

2. Faster: Most of the top speed numbers floating around out there contradict that claim. Not saying it isn't true, but until someone does a credible test with 2 STOCK machines under identical riding conditions, the true outcome is unknown. I do believe that the Raptor will reach it's top speed faster, I just can't say that it's top speed is going to actually be faster.

3. Raptor - Better Mod Potential: Simply states facts not in evidence. The Raptor has had several years to developed the mods that are currently available to it. There is no telling at this time what kind of mods will be available for the 700 and the impact they will have. There is talk of 800 + cc V-Forces.

4. Handling: I have had the opportunity to ride both a Raptor and now a KFX700. I will tell you this. STOCK for STOCK, the KFX700 will out handle the Raptor in almost every type of riding environment. It's simple mathematics. Wider, Longer, Lower center of gravity, Better front suspension design, resulting in almost zero bump steer.

It's difficult to compare these 2 quads, they truly have taken 2 different approaches to achieving there goal of being a High performance Sport Quad. It also makes it hard to compare them just from the simple fact that the Raptor has been around for a few years now, and most of the KFX700's future is yet unknown, Good or Bad.
