I need help on WARIOR jetting... please
#1
Hello, I'm new here so be nice... I have a 2003 Warrior with a FMF Hi-Flo (SS) head pipe with the new Titanium 4 silencer with the stainless steel mid-pipe. What jetting specs do you suggest for sea level riding & 3000 ft thru 3500ft? I am planing on making two 2 inch holes in the airbox for more air when i get the right jetting specs. Thanks

welcome Jovaolova...im not sure about your jetting. i used a dial-a-jet with the stock jets when i added my pipe. Take a look at my pics you might be interested in the Motoforce airbox lid instead of drilling holes. drillings permanent...you could always switch back to the stock lid if you ride near water with the motoforce lid. plus it clear and you can check your filter just by lifting your seat and looking.
good luck

Hey,
i've got a '97 Warrior that i just bought. it's got a DG headpipe and muffler, plus 3 2" holes in the air box. i've got a thread going right now "what do each of the jets do" that discusses some good jetting info. i'm still trying to get mine figured out.
btw: i'd suggest doing your airbox mods before jetting. then you won't have to change the jetting again.
the stock warrior main jet is a 145 (i think). my warrior has a 150 main jet in it. my yard isn't big enough for me to run WOT, so don't know how it's running on the top end. but for idle-1/2 throttle i know i'm lean. so you'll probably need a bigger main jet, and then some fine tuning for the part throttle settings. see my thread for more info.
cheers,
bigmac

If your lean only in mid range, move the needle. Its hard to give jetting advice because every motor is different. The norm for the mods u named is 148-150. But remember, mikuni and dyno jets arent really translateable.

Hey,
where is the needle jet? i took the float bowl off of my carb yesterday to check the jetting and didn't seen anything i thought was the needle jet. but then again, i really don't what i'm supposed to be looking for, lol.
thanks,
bigmac
PS: a general rundown of what each of the jets do:
pilot jet - idle to 1/4 throttle - use the air screw to adjust (screw out to richen), if no change by 3 turns, get bigger jet
needle jet - 1/4 to 3/4 throttle - adjustable by moving the clip position (lower means richer)
main jet - 3/4 to WOT - not adjustable, just get a bigger jet.
