Default ? about AC nerf Bars

i am about ready for buy a set of Ac nerf bars for my warrior for 119+shipping.. my question is do i have to take the stock foot pan things on the things that are bolted to the pegs now? and if so when i put the ac's on will there be a big gap there for my foot to fall into or not? or should i go with a set of Dg nerfs?
