I drove a 450 mi. round trip this afternoon and bought a '97 Blaster. Man I can't wait until the morning to go ride this thing. It's a one owner with a few mods that has spent most of it's life in a garage...this things showroom! I had to give $1800, but I think that's a decent deal. I don't see a sight glass to check the oil like my dirtbike...is there a screw where the oil should run out when full? How many psi should I run in the tires (original)? Should I be able to purchase a block off kit for the auto lube at the dealer or do you guys order online?

There was a guy at work today teling me I should look for a used 300EX instead of a Blaster. He has already challenged me to a drag race. I don't know a lot about the different quads yet, but from what I've read on this forum, I think the Blaster is a good buy. I've been riding dirtbikes for many years, so I couldn't imagine trying out this sport on anything less than a 2-stroke.

I found the oil sight glass this morning. It was midnight when I got home, I guess I didn't look very hard.

For the pressure in the tires it should right in the tire. If not just use something that dents in a little when you push your boot down on it. For the block off kit it's not hard to make one yourself if you have any mechanical knowledge.Racing a 300ex will be a close one and it will probably be decided by weight and rider skill. For ANY Blaster info i strongly suggest going to www.blastercentral.com and take your time looking around. there is an online owner's manual, microphiche(sp) and all kinds of goodies. be sure to check out the blaster only bbs too.

Use yamalube4, .69 US qts.(22oz.).Tire pressure is usually 4lbs. I got the block off kit from Trinity for $12. Sounds like you got a pretty decent deal with the extra mods in it. Have fun!!
